The 90-minute premiere episode of the CGI animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will have a limited release in U.S. cinemas starting August 15th.Not only will this be the first 3-D animated movie for the highly-successful saga, but this will also be the first Star Wars movie not released through Twentieth Century Fox. Fox released all six Star Wars movies, plus the original microseries The Clone Wars on home video. But Warner Bros. and Turner Broadcasting will release Star Wars: The Clone Wars this time. The principle reason is that Turner's and W.B.'s subsidiary, The Cartoon Network, managed to snag the rights to the series from creator George Lucas.Star Wars: The Clone Wars on The Cartoon NetworkThe new series will premiere this fall on The Cartoon Network, later airing on TNT."I felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell," said George Lucas in the press release for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. "I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward.""Nothing like this has ever been produced for television," said Stuart Snyder, President/COO Turner Animation,Young Adults & Kids Media. "For 30 years, Star Wars has shown that it appeals to a huge breadth of fans. Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network will be appointment television for everyone in the family. We're thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm again and very excited to be playing a role in bringing this remarkable adventure to viewers." http://www.blacktreemedia.com

you cant make star wars like that!
COMALiteJ (December 31, 1969 at 11:59 pm)
Apparently my sarcasm whooshed right over your head.Let me spell it out for you: the CG graphics and animation of Clone Wars ARE *NOT* cutting edge. They wouldn't've been cutting edge in the 1990s! GAME CONSOLES can do better CGI than that in REAL TIME! Heck, the PREVIOUS GENERATION of game consoles (PlayStation 2, original XBox, etc.) could beat that! Even the original PlayStation 1 could beat that! DirectX8, let alone 9 or 10, could beat that! In REAL TIME!!

What´s your Problem?! This is the best "Star Wars" movie ever!!!
Daniel4646 (December 31, 1969 at 11:59 pm)
I do not deny that the GC graphics and animation are cutting edge. I'm just saying that the suspense and atmosphere - the flair - so prevalent in most other Star Wars movies is missing. Even the best graphics cannot change that. See the movie conversion of Final Fantasy for a good idea gone down the drain.

This is an example of a good idea that went bad. The idea of doing a Star Wars film like.... this, could have been done really well. They just picked a sub par story. They should've given the fans more of the general CW, and gave people like Durge and Grievous a bit of screen time, rather than just one segment.

wow are you serious you like this shit you should go suck dick unless you already do you faggot this ruined the starwars series and had horrible graphics they could at least give them good hair in the animation insted a a block of wood
COMALiteJ (December 31, 1969 at 11:59 pm)
"Still, graphics and animation redeem the film somewhat."You're kidding, right? We haven't seen 3D animation this "cutting edge" since REBOOT in the 1990s!!These animators can't even do HAIR! *I* can do reasonably realistic 3D-animated hair on my PC! Everyone with hair or a beard in this series looks like it's made of CARVED WOOD!! Heck, even without hair animation, one can at LEAST make the MATERIAL LOOK more like the way hair shines and reflects light! A simple anisotropic shader will do!
